Hackney’s Cultural Development Team works in partnership with the borough’s world class cultural and creative sector, to deliver the council’s Arts and Cultural Strategy 2019-2022. The strategy aims to harness the many dividends that arts and culture can bring to local communities, including community cohesion, employment, education, health and wellbeing as well as a vibrant and inclusive arts-led economy. Cultural communications and engagement materials use a vibrant magenta colour palette.

Our arts and cultural strategy 2019-2022 sets out the framework within which cultural activities and the cultural and creative industries contribute to the wider social and economic drivers within Hackney.

It sets the context for the strategic development of the sector in line with overall development priorities of the council but also demonstrates where culture can add value and provide fresh and creative approaches.
